Dramaturgy
The difference between dramaturgy and assessment is determined by the response. If the script is assessed it is a reflection of what is already on the page; the assessor reflects on and responds to the effectiveness of the extant script. If dramaturgy is involved the script is often fluid, incomplete, and the dramaturg is hired to be involved in the solution of problems and aid in the realization of the next draft of the piece.
Because of the differing skills base the dramaturgical component is charged by the hour.
